Nagaur Fort

Built in the 4th century by the kings of the Nag Dynasty, Nagaur Fort is one of the most famous places to visit in Nagaur Rajasthan. The Fort is also known as the Ahhichatragarh Fort which means Fort of the Hooded Cobra. Spread over 36 acres, the Fort has several palaces within with intricate carvings that relate its former splendour. In 2002 the Nagaur Fort won the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Award for Culture Heritage Conservation.

Tarkeen Dargah

Located within the walls of the Nagaur Fort this is one of the most fascinating Nagaur places to visit. It is one of the most significant holy sites for the Muslims which is followed by the Ajmer Dargah. The Tarkeen Dargah was built in memory of Khwaja Hamiduddin Nagauri who was a devoted follower of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti.

Amar Singh’s Cenotaph

The Cenotaph of Amar Singh Rathore is one of the most significant places to visit in Nagaur Rajasthan. It has great historical importance for the people here and its architectural splendour is a sight to behold. The Cenotaphs follow typical Rajput architecture with the ornate flower designs carved on the pillars. Amar Singh was known for his bravery and courage and the cenotaphs were built to honor this quality of his. Amar Singh’s Cenotaph is a must-visit attraction, especially for history buffs.

Jain Glass Temple

The Jain Glass Temple is one of the most popular places to visit in Nagaur Rajasthan due to its architectural magnificence and intricate craftwork. This Temple is made entirely of glass and it is a most visited shrine of the Jain Community. The Temple is famous for the unique figures of Lord Mahavira which are ornately decorated with ornamental arches and artistic marble works. The main attraction in the Temple is the beautiful artworks inside the Temple which also represents ancient Jain Scriptures.

Deepak Mahal

Deepak Mahal is part of Nagaur Fort and it offers spectacular views of the surrounding area. The walls of Deepak Mahal are beautifully decorated with intricate carvings of that era and unique floral designs that are found in paintings and scriptures.

Akbari Mahal

Located within the walls of the Nagaur Fort, the Akbari Mahal was built by the Mughals in 1556 when the Mughals recaptured Nagaur from Ajmer. The architecture of the palace reflects a harmonious amalgamation of Rajput and Mughal architecture.
